This winter coat was worn by the U.S. Army in the 1940s and is called a mackinaw coat or jeep coat. It was widely worn by infantrymen, paratroopers, and others as well as vehicle units. No labels remain. The front has a simple button closure, and a belt is included. The back of the belt is covered with wool fabric for easy handling. It is stained in places, but is still in good condition to be enjoyed. The patch of the 1st Army Infantry Division and the rank insignia of a corporal are sewn on it, but they were sewn on later and hand-stitched. It is unknown if it was sewn on during the war or restored later. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
