This is a meticulous reproduction by TOYS McCOY of the tanker jacket worn by Travis Bickle, played by Robert De Niro, in the 1976 film *Taxi Driver*.
Item No. TMJ2238, Size XL.TOYS McCOY obtained an official license for *Taxi Driver* and produced this jacket after thoroughly examining the original props actually used during the film’s production. This model is not simply a vintage tanker jacket with patches added; it is designed to recreate “that very jacket” worn in the film.
The base for this jacket is the Winter Combat Jacket—commonly known as the “Tanker’s Jacket”—used by the U.S. Army during World War II.However, the jacket in the film features details that differ from a standard military tanker jacket. Based on their examination of the actual prop, TOYS McCOY has recreated even the modifications that are difficult to discern from the film alone—such as the sewn-shut back pleats and the quilted lining.
Above all, it is the customizations that define this jacket.
On the left chest is an airborne-style insignia combining a parachute and wings. And on the left sleeve is the “KING KONG COMPANY” patch, which makes a striking impression.TOYS McCOY meticulously measured the actual King Kong patch and faithfully recreated it to match the film’s specifications using a combination of printing, embroidery, and hand-painting.
Furthermore, the back features the “BICKLE, T” stencil, which identifies the protagonist in the film.
The exterior features a khaki-to-tan body with olive drab knit ribbing, and a striking red diamond-quilted lining that appears the moment the jacket is unbuttoned.
