This is a model of a P-51 Mustang fighter plane with the autograph of Air Force Brigadier General Charles Elwood Jaeger, a.k.a. "Chuck" Jaeger, who in 1947 became the first person in human history to break the Mach 1 speed of sound barrier with his X-1. This P-51 Mustang is the aircraft that Brigadier General Jaeger actually flew during WWII, when he actually shot down several Luftwaffe planes. In the movie "The Right Stuff," the scene where he exceeds the Mach 1 barrier is famous, but the legendary fighter pilot and test pilot who achieved a very important feat in the development of American aviation and space development was Brigadier General Chuck Yeager. This item has a very high historical value.
The former owner actually received the autograph directly from Brigadier General Chuck Jaeger, and since it was given to him more than 20 years ago, the model is used, but the signature is still beautiful. The model has a few cracks on the fuselage. It is not a print, but signed by the person himself at night. Photographs of the person signing the model and copies of certificates and other documents will be included.
