This ERDL camouflage jacket is a souvenir item that was produced and sold in Okinawa in the estimated 1980s.
Like the pants also on display, it is a piece that strongly reflects the military culture and distribution background unique to Okinawa at the time. The fabric used is presumed to be made in mainland Japan, and it is highly likely that the sewing was done in Okinawa, which suggests a production route along the same lines as locally made Tiger Stripe products made around the same time.

In the context of the late 1980s, before the large-scale release of actual U.S. military items was still common, the most distinctive feature of this product is that it uses a unique pattern combining elements of Woodland camouflage and ERDL camouflage. This is thought to be a device to avoid design rights, and the result is a very unique design that locks in the atmosphere of the time as it was.

The construction is based on a four-pocket military jacket, and while it is highly conscious of the government uniform, the details show the softness and freedom typical of locally made jackets. The silhouette has few habits and is both practical and fashionable.

The condition is unused. It shows slight wrinkles from storage, but does not show signs of wear and the fabric is in excellent condition.
This is a valuable ERDL camouflage jacket with a background that is difficult to reproduce today, which is essential in the context of 1980s Okinawan military. This jacket has never been used, but due to its age, please consider it only if you understand vintage items.
