These are the iconic Tropical Combat Trousers from the Vietnam War era. Specifically, this is the 3rd Model, made from non-ripstop fabric, and it comes in an X-LARGE REGULAR size—a size that rarely becomes available.

Furthermore, judging by the condition of the tag, this is an unused item from that era—deadstock.

The official name is “TROUSERS, MEN’S, COMBAT, TROPICAL.”The tag bears the designation DSA-100-67-C-1634, indicating a 1967 contract. Jungle fatigues were developed for use in the hot and humid conditions of Southeast Asia and became the iconic U.S. military combat uniform of the Vietnam War.

The 3rd Model is a version that refines the details from the early models while still using a cotton poplin-type non-ripstop fabric—the material used before the transition to ripstop fabric. Its smooth, lightweight feel and the unique fade that develops with wear are major attractions. These are the most streamlined and efficient pants available.

Above all, what makes this particular pair so exceptional is its condition and size.

The size is marked as X-LARGE REGULAR. According to the tag, the waist measures 39–43 inches and the inseam 29 1/2–32 1/2 inches—a large size that is overwhelmingly rare among authentic jungle fatigues on the market.Among vintage tropical trousers, which are often found in smaller sizes, an XL-R that actually fits loosely is extremely rare.

Furthermore, judging by the clarity of the tag and the vibrancy and firmness of the fabric, these are in pristine condition—clearly deadstock. The OD green color retains its deep hue, and you can clearly feel the authentic texture of the non-ripstop fabric. The fact that these authentic military items from over half a century ago have survived in this condition is a major draw in itself.

Functional details unique to tropical combat uniforms—such as the large cargo pockets on both thighs, the waist adjustment strap, and the drawcord at the hem—are all intact. While they may appear simple, the silhouette when worn possesses a distinctive, powerful presence unique to vintage U.S. military gear that clearly sets them apart from modern cargo pants.

Manufactured in 1967, 3rd Model, non-ripstop, X-LARGE REGULAR, and deadstock.

This size alone makes it rare enough, but to find a pair where the fabric color, stiffness, and condition of the tags are all perfectly preserved is something you won’t easily come across again. This is a wonderful pair of authentic Vietnam War-era fatigues that you can enjoy in a condition close to how they were originally made.

Condition: Deadstock. Please note that there may be slight signs of aging due to long-term storage. The fabric’s color, stiffness, and the condition of the tags are all in very good shape.

As this is a used item, returns are not accepted. Thank you for your understanding.
