This boonie hat was used by the same soldier as the Mitchell Pattern Jacket introduced earlier.
It is very rare to find a set together, but this is also a one-of-a-kind item with a strong story.

The base is the Mitchell pattern (leaf camo) used by the USMC.
Like the jacket, it is believed to be a custom-made item that was not issued to the owner, but was personally procured and custom-made locally.

The top has a hand-painted EGA (Eagle, Globe, and Anchor) and a stencil that appears to be a name, showing the strong customization by the soldier himself at that time.

The rough stenciling and uneven placement of the stencils, which are not found on ready-made items, give the tops a "handmade" look.
This "handmade" feeling is the greatest charm of this item, which tells the story of the realism of the time.

The overall color is faded, and the brim has some bite and damage from use, but it is in very good condition as proof that it was actually used in the battlefield.
The fabric itself is firm and still in wearable condition.

As with the Mitchell Jacket, it is valuable enough on its own, but by matching them together as a group, the value of this special piece increases even more. It is a one-of-a-kind piece that truly embodies the Vietnam War era. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
