The M-1951 Arctic Trousers were adopted during the Korean War and remained in service for many years afterward. Unlike the commonly known heavy-duty M-1951 field pants, this item is a pair of overtrousers made from the same wind-resistant cotton poplin fabric used in the M-1951 parka.

Designed as a lightweight shell prioritizing wind resistance, they feature a layering system that allows them to be worn on their own or, with a dedicated liner inserted, transformed into cold-weather gear. This piece embodies the functional beauty pursued by the U.S. military at the time.

In addition to the roomy silhouette typical of overpants, it incorporates details designed for combat use throughout, such as side cargo pockets and a drawcord at the hem.Since they’re made from the same material as the M-1951 parka, they create an exceptionally cohesive look when worn as a set. They’re perfect not only as military wear but also blend seamlessly into modern overpants styles.

The size is MEDIUM-REGULAR. This is a highly sought-after “golden size” that accommodates a wide range of body types.

The condition is New Old Stockit’s safe to say these are unused. Aside from slight wrinkles from storage, the fabric retains its firmness and texture, making them in excellent condition. Pieces in such excellent condition are becoming increasingly rare each year, making them ideal for both collecting and practical use.

A masterpiece that played a key role in the cold-weather protection system—an essential element when discussing the M-1951 series. While this item is often overlooked today, it’s a piece that truly lets you appreciate its functionality and high level of craftsmanship.
