This is an actual release of the TAP 47/56 Lizard Camo Jacket worn by the French Army Airborne troops (Troupes Aéroportées). This pattern is said to have been produced in relatively large numbers among the Lizard camouflage, which is also famous as the original camouflage of the Tiger Stripe.
This model was actually used in the Algerian War from the 1950s to the 1960s. While inheriting the design concept originally developed for the Indochina War, it was made with airborne operations in mind, and is characterized by its robust herringbone twill material andunique lizard camouflage pattern.
The front is equipped with numerous pockets with excellent storage capacity, a double-front flap and button specification, and a stand collar with button closure. The inside is stamped "V. BIEBUYCK / MERVILLE " and the size is 46 (larger actual size), equivalent to a modern L to XL.
Although there are some scuffs and fading from actual use, that is the proof of the real history of this item. What is packed in this piece of clothing is the weight of the French military's battlefield aesthetics and period.
