This is a U.S. Army poncho manufactured in 1968 during the Vietnam War. It is an actual item. It was stored for a long time after use, and has been cleaned once with some white mold. There is a smell peculiar to surplus items. However, the water resistance has definitely deteriorated from its potential at that time, so there is a possibility that the item may be damaged after being used for some time.
